PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $134,200.00-$164,000.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $104,200.00 - $194,000.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. As a Sr Solutions Architect at BECU, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing strategic technology solutions that directly align with BECU’s business objectives. Your expertise in crafting scalable, reliable architectures will drive long-term technology investments and ensure seamless integration with evolving industry standards. By collaborating with business leaders, Enterprise Architects, and technology teams, you’ll shape technology roadmaps and contribute to the future growth of BECU. Your work will not only influence how we deliver complex technology solutions but also guide our use of emerging technologies, creating meaningful, long-term impact.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design Scalable Solutions: Formulate and sustain comprehensive technology solutions that align with BECU’s business objectives and strategic goals, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and compliant with industry standards.

  • Align Technology with Business Value: Collaborate with business and technology partners to align the technology roadmap with business value, creating robust, technically sound solutions that drive organizational success.

  • Guide Architecture Standards: Engage with Enterprise Architects and other key stakeholders to ensure adherence to architectural standards and align complex technology solutions with organizational constraints.

  • Provide Technical Leadership: Offer domain-specific technical expertise to project teams, clearly communicating the value of architecture and technology in achieving project outcomes.

  • Develop and Implement Blueprints: Create detailed technical blueprints that guide the seamless implementation of business solutions across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Address Architectural Challenges: Collaborate with production support teams to tackle domain-specific architectural challenges, eliminating design debt and ensuring system integrity.

  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, leveraging these insights to drive innovation and enhance BECU’s technology landscape.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of five years of experience designing and implementing technology architectures, with a proven track record of delivering complex technology solutions.

  • Expertise in cloud-native technologies, including microservice architecture, RESTful APIs, scalable designs, and digital platforms, with experience implementing large-scale initiatives.

  • Comprehensive understanding of various technologies and supplier capabilities, with experience integrating them into large infrastructure and systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of modern technology service architecture, including hosting, security, risk management, IAM, access control, monitoring, and cloud technologies (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, containers).

  • Understanding of Lean/Agile/Scrum methodologies, with scaled agile experience (such as SAFe) preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field.

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft infrastructure and solution stacks in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

  • Knowledge of architectural frameworks such as The Open Group, NIST, ISO 19xxx, BizBok, or Gartner.

  • Understanding of risk management and security principles.
