PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $110,900.00-$135,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $86,100.00 - $160,300.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE :

As a Sr People Business Partner at BECU, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the workplace culture and enhancing employee engagement. Your expertise will directly contribute to our vision by providing vital HR consulting and services that improve both employee experiences and member interactions. You’ll be the trusted advisor to leaders and employees, guiding them through various people matters, and proactively identifying needs to drive meaningful change. Your impact will resonate across the organization, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that empowers everyone to thrive.

This role can be done remotely from WA, OR, ID, with a strong preference to being located within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila headquarters for occasional onsite business needs.*

WHAT YOU’LL DO :

  • Provide Expert HR Consulting: You’ll deliver guidance in employee relations, performance management, staffing, and organizational design, helping teams navigate challenges effectively.

  • Champion Talent Initiatives: You’ll partner with business units and People partners on key talent initiatives, ensuring alignment with our overall strategy.

  • Advise on Employee Relations: You’ll offer counsel to management on complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements.

  • Build Strong Relationships: You’ll connect regularly with client groups and People partners to understand their needs, concerns, and insights, fostering a culture of open communication.

  • Demonstrate Business Acumen: You’ll leverage your understanding of business priorities to inform HR strategies that support organizational goals.

  • Support Business Change: You’ll collaborate with Strategic HR Directors and business leaders to implement tailored people strategies and support initiatives like the annual employee survey.

  • Update Job Descriptions: You’ll work with leaders and Compensation to create and refine job descriptions and families, ensuring clarity and alignment.

  • Manage Internal Mobility: You’ll oversee the internal mobility process, documenting justifications and pay decisions to facilitate career growth.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: You’ll recommend and implement new approaches to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within HR processes.

  • Collaborate Across HR: You’ll partner with HR colleagues on cross-group initiatives and project efforts, contributing to a cohesive HR strategy.

  • Adapt to New Challenges: You’ll take on additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to team success.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other closely related field, or equivalent work or education experience required.

  • Minimum five years of broad, progressive HR experience, with at least two years in an HR Generalist capacity.

  • Experience with various HR functions, policies, best practices, and employment law specific to Washington State.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to consult and influence professional client groups.

  • Demonstrated experience managing high volume employee relations issues guiding leaders on an appropriate course of action.

  • Resilient and flexible mind-set willing and able to quickly adjust among constant change.

  • Excellent diplomacy and judgment when handling routine as well as emotionally charged situations.

  • Ability to think strategically and implement ideas/programs tactically.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data, understand trends, develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.

  • Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.
