BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina Ancillary Segment Account Executive in Remote, North Carolina
Job Description
Responsible for the generation of new revenue with the sale of group ancillary products and services to new and existing medical and ancillary customers, working in partnership with assigned brokers and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina health sales representatives. Comprehensive knowledge of all group ancillary products and services (including dental, vision, life, short and long term disability, voluntary products and MEC), commission agreements, rating and financial arrangements. Basic, voluntary and flexible benefit proposal presentation and enrollment.
Generate new revenue with the sale of group ancillary products. Consult with employer groups, assigned brokers and BCBS sales representatives to promote the sale of group ancillary products and services. Devise long and short term business plan with each agent and BCBSNC representative. Understand assigned broker business models.
Regularly meet with assigned agents and BCBSNC representatives to achieve annual sales goals as identified for Mosaic Group. Manage internal and external resources to accomplish goals.
Evaluate business requirements to determine product fit within departmental, carrier and corporate capabilities. Coordinate proposal delivery and presentation.
Responsible for taking the initiative to learn, analyze and understand prospective accounts’ ancillary insurance needs and decision making process.
Successfully execute the ancillary sales and enrollment process, which includes negotiating rates by product within financial parameters. Upon completion of a sale, ensure smooth transition and communication with Mosaic Group enrollment team. Communicate effectively with all parties throughout the sales and enrollment process.
Conduct on-site group and voluntary ancillary product enrollment meetings as needed.
Build working relationships with other areas of the organization as well as all Mosaic Group partners. Effectively communicate with partners on an ongoing basis. Support and regularly communicate with other members of BCBSNC sales team.
Direct day-to-day operations and issues, consult/inform department head of activities.
Rely on product knowledge, administrative capabilities of both BCBSNC and external carriers, and competitor information to analyze and develop recommendations and make decisions.
Hiring Requirements
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
5+ years of experience in related field
In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field
Must have or obtain a North Carolina Health and Life Insurance license within the first 60 days of employment in this position.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Compensation
This is a sales incentive role with a total compensation package that consists of a base salary and sales incentive target component. All sales roles are eligible for an initial draw/guarantee to assist new hires with their on-boarding with the company.
