Our client, a small but rapidly growing firm specializing in innovative and complex investing and insurance services, is looking to hire a Director of Financial Planning and Analytics. Position Overview:

The Director of Financial Planning and Analytics will serve as the right hand to the Managing Director, playing a pivotal role in driving the financial health and strategic growth of the organization. This is a hands-on position requiring a strong foundational knowledge of accounting, advanced financial modeling skills, and the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive financial models to support strategic decision-making.

  • Prepare and analyze the three financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement).

  • Lead the creation and management of forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Conduct ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support business initiatives.

  • Calculate and report on internal rates of return (IRR) and other performance metrics for investments.

  • Build robust financial business cases to support strategic investments and operational decisions.

  • Support investor relations activities, including preparation of reports, presentations, and communications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

  • Partner with the Managing Director to execute financial strategies that align with organizational goals.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSF) or certifications (CFA, CMA, etc.) preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the private equity or financial services industry.

  • Solid foundational accounting knowledge with demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and analysis.

  • Proven ability to independently manage complex projects while also excelling in collaborative team settings.

  • High proficiency in building financial statements, forecasts, and budgets.

  • Strong understanding of IRR calculations and financial performance metrics.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Experience in a Private Equity or Investment Banking environment is a big plus but not required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, financial planning software).
