Logistics Analyst

The role is responsible for the execution of the daily operations of the Americas logistics team. The individual will collaborate with logistics team members as well as external partners that provide a variety of logistics services. The role requires strong skills in self-motivation, financial analysis, organization, time management, and communication.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage external system/processes focused on freight invoicing

  • Actively manage exception queues to ensure partner companies receive on-time payments

  • Contributes to the development of standard work documents

  • Solves problems in various situations through the application of strong analytical skills, creativity and judgment

  • Application questions and support - including general ledger cost string allocation requests

  • Excels at internal and external stakeholder communication (e.g., suppliers, business partners, etc.)

  • Manage internal system updates and cross-functional reporting requirements

  • Manage the regular updating on different internal systems to ensure accurate shipment quoting and tracking number availability (Microsoft AX, ShipConsole TMS, Oracle, etc.)

  • Work with data from both internal and external sources to create or update regular reports that are required by other departments within Allegion

  • Monitor and action invoices that are processed through Oracle and applied against various logistics purchase orders

  • Develop or enhance standard work documents that cover these reporting and system-based tasks and actions

  • Lead various monthly and annual financial analysis activities

  • Create and update monthly financial review files, based in excel, that provide a clear historical view while updating forecasts for the remainder of the year

  • Responsible for the collection, analysis, and summary of RFP’s for LTL, FTL, Ocean, Air, and Parcel transportation services

  • Supports internal plant level cost review questions to determine root-cause issues and implement corrective actions

  • Implement miscellaneous process improvements across the plants to improve upon their procedures or to drive productivity

  • Remain flexible to support different logistics projects and tasks in an ever-changing environment

  • Projects can include data collection and normalization, writing different guides/instructions, tracking pickups, training, and more

  • Regular shipment review (carrier compliance, location, volume) and analysis

  • Support other initiatives/projects/tasks as assigned. Includes but is not limited to:

  • Provide occasional support for outbound customer shipment issues (e.g. pick-ups, returns), as well as for shipments inbound to Allegion operations teams.

  • Process carrier contract updates via freight audit and payment company as well as our contract storage/management system

  • As needed network analysis and data collection

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, accounting, data analysis, supply chain or other related field

  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations or related field

  • Proven experience in RFP and/or financial analysis

  • Strong time management and organization skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with different levels of the organization

  • Proficient to an advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook

  • Knowledge of ERP and TMS systems preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
