Antech Diagnostics Director, Product Marketing & Education, Sound in Remote, California

The Director of Product Commercialization and Education, Sound, will lead the strategic and commercial marketing efforts for our Sound business, including leadership of the Academy of Veterinary Imaging (AVI). This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, collaboration, and a deep understanding of veterinary diagnostics and digital marketing tools. Strategies and actions should be designed and executed with clear alignment to the company’s ultrasound business metrics, and goal of an outstanding customer experience.

Market Analysis and Research

  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and potential opportunities for growth. Utilize this data to inform and refine marketing strategies.

  • Engage with practicing veterinarians and corporate veterinary groups to understand their needs and tailor marketing strategies accordingly.

Strategic Marketing Development

  • Develop strategies to effectively compete against major industry players, identifying unique selling points and value propositions.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for Sound, focusing on market growth and penetration.

Marketing Plan Creation and Execution:

  • Develop and oversee the execution of comprehensive marketing plans for Sound

  • This involves setting clear objectives, defining target audiences, determining marketing channels and tactics, allocating budgets, and measuring the effectiveness of these plans in achieving business goals.

  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies and initiatives.

Cross Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Communications

  • Serve as center point of all communication, planning, and execution around products in the portfolio.

  • Work closely with Capital Equipment and Products, Preventive Care Research and Development, Sales/Sales Enablement, Marketing/marcomm, National Accounts and Senior leadership audiences to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with product development and sales goals.

  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including presentations to executive teams and participation in industry events.

Lead Academy of Veterinary Imaging (AVI)

  • Provide overall structure and direction to the Education Services staff in preparation and during customer facing educational course.

  • Collaborate with the organization to assess, create, and implement growth and customer experience strategies for the Academy of Veterinary Imaging (AVI).

  • Oversee training curriculum for course offerings; determines appropriate instructional methodologies and formats (web, classroom, self -directed); evaluates and recommends third party instructors/speakers as appropriate to meet overall goals and objectives of each course as outlined.

  • Evaluate current courses to ensure relevant and learning opportunities that have positive impact for the veterinary ultrasound community. Propose course updates and need analyses based on business metrics, course capacity and structured attendee feedback.

  • Manage monthly equipment and supplies inventory to 100% accuracy target and budget.

  • Manage the Academy team including staffing, training, discipline, performance management and attendance. Manage hourly employee and contractor costs according to budget.

  • Customer Logistics: Coordinate the process of customer course registrations, correspondence, course capacity, and lodging. Maintain an up to date CRM record for each customer.

  • Staff Logistics: Proactively create and maintain staff scheduling proportionate to individual course capacity and attendance. Coordinate staff hotel arrangements at corporate rate. Create and distribute course agenda to staff with times and/or needed coverage per course. Establish and maintain course and staff metrics/ records.

  • Work with Medical Director to maintain up to date RACE certifications for each course.

  • Evaluate and update processes for AVI staffing, supplies, customer experience.

  • Work with Operations team to establish or update any building maintenance contracts.

  • Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement and positivity.

Budget Management

  • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to achieve program goals and deliver a strong return on investment.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration or a related discipline, specialization in healthcare marketing is an added advantage.

  • 6+ years of marketing experience in healthcare, veterinary diagnostics industry/research, and/or (large/multi-site) veterinary hospital administration.

  • Proven track record in developing and implementing marketing strategies in a veterinary or healthcare setting.

  • The ideal candidate should be adept at leading teams, navigating complex market dynamics, and driving growth through innovation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees: DVM/LVT strongly preferred, MBA preferred.

  • Veterinary industry experience: Direct experience in the veterinary industry whether in clinical practice, veterinary pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, or related fields is highly valued.

  • Certifications: CVPM designation highly valued

  • Technical skills: Advanced knowledge of digital marketing tools, data analytics software, and CRM systems. Familiarity with veterinary practice management software is a plus.

  • Networking and Affiliations: Active participation in relevant industry associations, networks and professional groups within veterinary or healthcare marketing fields

Technical Skills and Experience Required

o Strategic Marketing Expertise: Proven ability to develop and implement effective B2C marketing strategies, particularly in program development and digital marketing.

o Digital Platform Marketing: Skills in promoting digital tools and platforms, ideally with experience in health or veterinary tech.

o Data Analysis and Metrics: Competency in using data analytics to inform marketing decisions and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

o Budget Management: Experience in managing marketing budgets, allocating resources efficiently, and demonstrating a strong return on investment.

o Project Management: Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and completing marketing projects.

o Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Industry Specific Knowledge Preferred

o Practice Management Skills: Proficiency in understanding veterinary practice management dynamics, including workflow efficiency, client engagement strategies, and operational challenges. Ability to tailor marketing programs that align with and enhance the day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals of veterinary practices. This includes knowledge of common practice management software systems and how diagnostic tools and recommendations can integrate seamlessly into these systems.

o Veterinary Diagnostics Knowledge: Understanding of the veterinary diagnostics market, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.

o Sales Collaboration: Experience working closely with sales teams, understanding the dynamics of sales and marketing collaboration in a healthcare-related field.

This role requires up to 50% travel.

  • Assist marketing with informative or educational presentations at major veterinary conferences such as Veterinary Medical Expo, Western Veterinary Conference, ECVDI, ACVR, VetMeet, and RIVDI

  • Attend Mars meetings and conferences for informational and educational purposes

  • Other educational and informational travel as needed

  • Universities to educate radiologists, radiologists-in-training and veterinary students

  • Hospitals and Clinics as needed to educate general practitioners and non-imaging specialists
