About the Position: Serves as a Senior Operations Research Analyst responsible for providing resource management policy, training strategies, and resource management data and resource analytics for the AMCOM G-8 (Resource Management). Performs functions, analyses, and studies in all resource management areas. Responsibilities Responsible for performing complex data operations using programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, and SAS and software such as Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, and Microsoft Power Platform. Develops data models and dashboards to support data-driven decision making for delivery of yearly resource management requirements. Assesses areas of major difficulty, complexity, and urgency with significant professional knowledge and critical thinking. Serves as Subject Matter Expert in the analysis, development, prioritization and evaluation of manpower/force management strategies and resourcing requirements. Applies analytical techniques and methodologies in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, operations research, modeling, simulation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Responsible for providing expert technical advice concerning the application of operations research techniques used to analyze complex issues related to missions. Provides clear and meaningful guidance to organization leads and staff on program and project developments and evaluation matters. Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which includes (1)gathering data from various public and private sources, (2)serving as a senior operations research analyst in the field of data analysis, (3)conducting operations research and analytical studies, (4) presenting findings, analyses, and recommendations in the form of comprehensive reports, and (5)coordinating operations research activities with internal and external personnel. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Analytical Thinking Collaboration Skills Data Management Force Management Mathematics and Statistics Research and Development Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
