Position Title: AV GLOBAL SUPPORT ENGINEER

Salary: $90,000-100,000/annually

Within Compass Group, Waveguide is part of the Eurest family that provides dining services to local, regional and national companies across the United States. Services include operating employee dining centers, on-site catering, executive dining rooms, and other managed services.

The Audio Visual Global Support Engineer will assist project teams in implementing and deploying Workplace Engineering (WPE) designs and solutions. This role will require interfacing and working with engineers to appropriately setup and test various devices/equipment and proposed AV configurations, construction project teams and remote troubleshooting of networked Audio-Visual systems at enterprise scale. The Audio Visual Global Support Engineer will deliver services by meeting the strategic objectives of the organization including service management, risk management, and project delivery.

Support will include training integration/project partners leading up to deployments and assisting in troubleshooting during pre-installation, deployment and post-integration phases of the support process. Knowledge and foresight to predict issues before they arise is critical. They will also provide quality assurance to identify areas of opportunity in both design and deployment/handoff process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist WPE Engineers in setup, preparation and evaluation of AV devices/equipment

  • Provide engineering support to in-flight projects across the globe

  • Develop, implement, and manage the reception, researching, and resolution of RFI’s/RFP’s for the WPE team

  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively with customers, teammates and internal resources (i.e. the WPE engineers, installation teams, subcontractors, etc.) will be paramount to success.

  • Address incoming issues and RFI’s in an agile environment providing a fast and efficient turn-around

  • Work with project delivery team to understand and solution common issues Interface with both the project deployment team and end users to improve usability in design and assist in developing training programs

  • Assist in commissioning process through improving methods and identifying additional items to test

  • Training the integration and installation partners Hold regular meetings with AVOR partners surrounding in-flight projects.

  • Identifying delays, obstacles, and landmarks Facilitate communication with operations around room handover identifying new technology and providing training materials or contacts Apply critical thinking to identify opportunities for improvement in both the project delivery process and design

  • Develop, implement, and manage the process by which design changes are received/on boarded and tested

  • Develop and foster relationships with current and new vendors/partners developing technologies that can be beneficial to our current client and offered in future designs for future clients

  • Provide Tier 1 reference and testing for proposed deviations in supported designs and research practicality of implementing them in future designs

  • Identify necessary changes of current or upcoming design changes and modify current configuration to accommodate changes

  • Highly detail oriented, self-motivated, and willing to collaborate and communicate on a professional level High degree of demonstrated customer service and hospitality skills. This includes a heightened sense of customer focus at all times to include the AV team as well as internal and external clients

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Audio-Visual Degree

  • CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D requested

  • DM Certified

  • Windows, Office, Lync/Skype for Business

  • Network (TCP/IP) Experience (3-5 years) Experience configuring and loading code for Crestron processors, Crestron DM, Digital Signal Processors, IP Phones

  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills

  • AV software applications and PC software functions

Other Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License; Valid Passport; 7-Year AV Engineering Experience Preferred; Hospitality Industry Experience Preferred

Physical Demands
