Job Title: EMC Test Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer to perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing on electronic devices and systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in setting up and operating EMI/EMC testing equipment and conducting radiated and conducted emissions and immunity testing. This role involves analyzing test results, troubleshooting issues, and documenting findings in detailed reports. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining the lab and traveling to local and domestic test labs to facilitate and witness testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electromagnetic compatibility testing on electronic devices and systems according to industry standards such as FCC, IEC/EN, CISPR32, and ETSI.

  • Setup and operate EMI/EMC testing equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.

  • Conduct radiated and conducted emissions and immunity testing on products.

  • Analyze test results and ensure the accuracy of test setups and results.

  • Run iterative tests to troubleshoot and find the root cause of issues.

  • Document test procedures, results, and findings in detailed test reports.

  • Travel to local test labs within 30 miles to facilitate testing.

  • Travel domestically to third-party test labs to witness and facilitate testing.

  • Perform related tasks surrounding test and measurement.

  • Maintain the lab in good working order.

Essential Skills

  • MUST have experience with EMC and EMI testing.

  • Proficiency in using EMI/EMC testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.

  • Familiarity with EMC lab software such as TILE, BAT EMC, and Elektra.

  • Knowledge of Python for scripting and automation.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret test results and troubleshoot issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience as a Test Engineer.

  • Strong documentation skills for creating detailed test reports.

Compensation Range: $62/hr

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $62.50
