Amazon Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, Kuiper Marketing in Redmond, Washington

Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, Kuiper Marketing, will bring a mixture of advanced data management, analysis, modeling, and dashboarding skills. The ideal candidate will use data-driven methods to answer business questions and play a key role in the development of our marketing measurement infrastructure. The right person in this role will be able to deal with ambiguity and take the lead in defining frameworks where no prior examples exist. They will be an ambitious self-starter with the ability to operate independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done will be key to success in the role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create and maintain complex queries and data pipelines.

  • Extract data for analysis and model development from large, complex datasets to address business questions.

  • Develop dashboards and visualizations that incorporate decision science to inform business decision-making.

  • Partner on the development of marketing measurement models and bring to production.

  • Apply advanced analytics to evaluate the causal impact of marketing on customer attitudes and behaviors.

  • Collaborate effectively with business partners and team members to align data business intelligence efforts with strategic goals.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.

  • Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.

  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

  • Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience working with and developing marketing science solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
