Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft Copilot Studio team within Conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI) is looking for a talented Software Engineer focused primarily on the front-end. You would help design and build an intuitive Authoring canvas that embraces different personas in fusion teams to build intelligent and complex bots that solve real world problems and surface across channels like Teams, Facebook Messenger etc with minimal effort.

The Power Platform always places the customer and quality at the core democratizing the AI space by empowering citizens to make smarter, faster decisions relying on the ecosystem of Power Apps, Power BI and Power Automate. The Copilot Studio is also the extension mechanism for Microsoft’s family of Copilots serving millions of end users.

Responsibilities

  • Drive modern software engineering practices through design and code reviews.

  • Design & implementation through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.

  • Gain a working understanding of Microsoft as a business and collaborate with mentors and leaders in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React and front-end state management solutions such as Redux, Recoil, MobX, or similar.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience developing and implementing front-end User Experiences at scale.

  • Demonstrated Computer Science fundamentals with a deep appreciation for the differences between platforms and environments.

  • Demonstrated technical design, architecture, problem solving, and debugging skills.

  • Experience with building ML tooling or working with LLM’s, Voice Assistant skills, natural language processing concepts and fundamentals.

  • Unwavering passion to understand and simplify the no-code and low-code developer experience.

  • Experience in standing up and working with Build Tooling infrastructure and writing effective End to End/Integration/Unit Tests.

  • A track record of working collaboratively to understand customer needs and create solutions that positively impact our customers.

  • Experience with building ML tooling or working with LLM’s, Voice Assistant skills, natural language processing concepts and fundamentals would a plus.

  • Experience working in an environment building and supporting hosted services.

Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.
