Required Skills:

Software Development Engineer In Test Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the delivery of high-quality software and platform for Facebook Reality Labs research prototypes.

  2. Lead implementation of automation and manual tests for software quality assurance efforts.

  3. Build and execute test strategy and plans across multiple system components while working with engineering teams to identify and resolve defects.

  4. Build a test-driven engineering culture that drives improvements in quality.

  5. Implement process changes to scale testing efforts across multiple system components.

  6. Test functionality of applications built for our research ecosystem.

  7. Plan, develop, and execute test coverage for multiple system components.

  8. Diagnose issues, report defects, and propose regression tests to discover reoccurrences.

  9. Work with engineers and project leads to triage and prioritize issues for resolution.

  10. Own the process of creating metrics to measure and monitor product performance.

  11. Partner with other Automation and Infrastructure teams to leverage common systems to allow better reliability and scalability.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Foreign Degree equivalent accepted), and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Experience must include 36 months involving the following:

    1. Coding in Python or Javascript
    1. Building, shipping, and maintaining commercial software
    1. Debugging applications on Platform, PC, or Mobile devices
    1. Testing functionality of applications built for a research ecosystem
    1. Planning, developing and executing test coverage for multiple system components
    1. Diagnosing issues, reporting defects, and proposing regression tests to discover reoccurrences
    1. Owning the process of creating metrics to measure and monitor product performance.

Public Compensation:

$231,205/year to $272,800/year + bonus + equity + benefits
