BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Software Development Engineer 4 (Cyber Security Operations) Job for an opportunity at Redmond, WA (Hybrid) 2-3 days on-site! Position Title: Software Development Engineer 4 (Cyber Security Operations) Location: Redmond, WA (Hybrid) 2-3 days on-site Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: Contract of 05 Months Job Type: Contract and Hybrid/Onsite Pay Range: $80 - $82/hr. Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Top Skills: * Years of Experience Required: 8-10 overall years of experience in the field. * Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's in computer science or similar field. Interested in candidates who have cyber security CISSP or cyber security certificate - to highlight a cyber security mindset/background. * Network Security Experience (8+ YOE) * Experience with Cyber Security Operations (or providing support to) (8+ YOE) - this isn't about creating a new feature. * Languages such as C sharp, Kusto Query Language (KQL), Python with Synapse (8+ YOE) examples, AzureDevOps, KQL, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, etc Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is a cybersecurity team that does threat intelligence and defense engineering for client. They run the Security & Information Event Management (SIEM) platform that encompasses network security monitoring, detection analytics with enrichment, and threat intelligence services. Our goal is to provide real-time threat visibility, early detection, and rapid response capabilities to safeguard clients network, infrastructure, and services. Job Description: Summary: The main function of a software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical software engineer research, designs, develops and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications. Job Responsibilities: * Review and approve the modification of existing databases and database management systems. * Instruct staff to write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system. * Direct database development and approve project scope and limitations. * Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. * Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure. * Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems. * Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information. Skills: * Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. * Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time. * Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. * Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and deliver
