Microsoft Corporation Senior Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Intune – one of the fastest growing cloud-based enterprise services at Microsoft – allows IT professionals to manage the ever-increasing usage of mobile devices in the workplace, allowing them to secure corporate assets and data while giving users the confidence their personal data stays private. As part of the Intune Compliance Team, you will be responsible for running the Privacy Rhythm of Business which includes conducting and signing off on privacy reviews for all new features, reviewing data access requests from partner teams, and counseling engineering teams on privacy requirements and privacy first design patterns. The candidate could have an engineering or compliance background, command of engineering best practices, and experience in raising the quality of existing solutions. The candidate must have solid written and verbal communication skills, a passion for technology, experience providing guidance and direction to technical audiences, the ability to drive towards the “big picture” while managing details, and the ability to build relationships with key partners.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Own and drive the Privacy Program rhythm of business across Intune.

  • Contribute incremental improvements to the privacy program to increase efficiency of operating processes.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to product teams on privacy and compliance obligations.

  • Manage and lead discussions with engineering teams, customers, and auditors to demonstrate our compliance obligations are understood and achievable.

  • Facilitate cross-company collaboration in regulatory compliance by establishing partnerships with other Microsoft teams with the overarching goal of improving the trust of Microsoft and its products.

  • Understand emerging privacy, compliance, and technical issues and how they will impact our service.

  • Coordinate with other privacy leaders in the company to ensure program alignment, as well as staying connected to governance owners, including Privacy Regulatory Affairs and Corporate External Legal Affairs Front Line.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

o OR equivalent experience.

· 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

. 3+ years of experience driving Privacy Compliance.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

o OR equivalent experience.

· 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

· 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

. IAPP certification or equivalent.

. Knowledge of Azure architecture, including familiarity with CosmosDB, EventHub, Azure FrontDoor, etc., and a working . . knowledge of computer hardware and Windows OS such as BIOS, TPM, Windows Registry, Event Logs, etc.

. Proficient in KQL or other query languages.

. Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory policy such as GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, SOX.

. Growth mindset demonstrated by consistently identifying and fixing inconsistencies and gaps in processes or services.

. Demonstrate a deep desire to work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions, drive change, and celebrate success.

. Experience working on Privacy related incidents.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
