Come join the Azure Data team as a Senior Product Manager and be an integral part of our customers’ business transformation using Microsoft’s Data and AI Platform. We are looking for a Product Manager who is passionate about customers and intrigued by how technology can drive the demanding needs of our customers. On this team you will have the opportunity to drive product from vision, concept to delivery across multiple product offerings. You will work with other teams in fast, agile, innovative environment to build cloud database capabilities to run business critical data services for Enterprises. You will collaborate with several teams within Azure and work with leadership to define cloud strategy for the future of the data platform. You will work with cloud technology partners and other public cloud offerings. You will work closely with customers, partners, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to understand the needs and pain points of customers, and deliver innovative solutions that enable them to migrate to Azure with confidence and ease.

Responsibilities

  • ​​Listens to customers to understand their needs.

  • Drives clarity on required work to meet customer requirements.

  • Partners with engineering, research, and other disciplines to design and build new Azure data services features for hybrid data solutions that customers love.

  • Collaborates with partner teams across Microsoft to build coherent experiences for customers, developers, and end users.

  • Plans, organizes, and manages multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Work with engineering team leaders on planning and executing the product vision through multiple release cycles.

  • Participate in deep technical design of features by engaging with engineering technical leaders and architects.

  • Partners with leading technology providers in cloud databases

  • Document, share and evangelize technical best practices with customers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of technical program management or product management experience on Enterprise data products.

  • 4+ years experience with Azure SQL offerings platform as a service/infrastructure as a service (PaaS, IaaS) or similar data platforms for cloud.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Experience as a Database Administrator, database developer or Database consultant

  • Experience with Virtual machines, containers on Windows and Linux platforms.

  • Experience with public speaking at technical conferences and events.

  • High enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to gracefully navigate shifting priorities.

  • Thought leadership, exceptional communication skills in influencing customers and senior executives.

  • Embrace diversity of thoughts and backgrounds and lead others to do the same.

  • Deep technical understanding of relational database systems and database management

  • Good analytical problem-solving skills to address deeply complex problems and issues.

  • Solve problems by always leading with deep passion and empathy for customers.

  • Someone who can work with cross functional teams and deliver results.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
