Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Manager in Redmond, Washington

Blackout Resilient Azure Intelligent Network(BRAIN) is a strategic investment in Azure to leverage Artificial Intelligence(AI)/Machine Learning(ML) to drive Azure quality. BRAIN provides scalable Artificial Intelligence for Information Technology operations(AIOPs) solutions to detect, communicate, triage, diagnose, mitigate, and prevent customer impact events. The team works closely with researchers, data scientists and Azure service partners, and has become a key driver to improve overall Azure quality and customer satisfaction. We orchestrate deep engagements in areas like incident management, Azure Services, Support and Enablement.

We are currently looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the BRAIN Product Management team in Redmond. We are searching for a customer focused Senior Product Manager who is dedicated about improving the experience of customers, driving improvements across Azure platform, and reducing toil for our Azure On-call personnels during outages.

This role will have accountability for delivering a consistent reliability-focused customer experience, while applying best-in-class program management practices to orchestrating complex workflows across the team and ensuring consistent and high-quality improvements to the Azure platform. This groundbreaking product is intended for use by on-call engineers, incident managers, support engineers and leadership teams during outages.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate technical breadth while managing complex programs and workstreams. Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Identify top on call engineers pain points during outages and provide clear committed execution plan.

  • Improve the end-to-end incident management lifecycle for Azure Services.

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and managing the project timeline, and resources.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and status reports, and communicate project status to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Drive and influence technical and product strategy, proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, align on priorities, and set direction for a broadly cross-functional area.

  • Help define the roadmap and long-term strategy of the teams that you are working with.

  • Design measurements to track impact and drive internal process improvements.

  • Articulate the technology, business requirements, goals, success metrics and milestones of your team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have Program Management or Product Management experience in an enterprise environment.

  • Familiarity with Azure services and capabilities and/or cloud platforms.

  • Communication skills that allow you to take lead and control the communication with internal Microsoft stakeholders and leadership to deal with ambiguity and drive for clarity.

  • Strategic thinking, quantitative and analytical skills, team leadership, and collaboration.

  • Understand AIOPs system and lifecycle of incident management.

  • Previous experience using AI/ML or collaboration with Data scientists will be helpful.

  • User Experience(UX) and full stack experience.

  • Large Language Model(LLM)and copilot experience.

  • Effective collaboration, organizational, time management skills

  • Good communicator in a technical environment.

  • Efficient problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills.

  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
