Microsoft Corporation Senior Finance Manager - Cloud Network Services Enablement in Redmond, Washington

The Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization (MSIO) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy.

The team’s charter is to partner with a broad group of stakeholders to build out the end-to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure, while optimizing investments and enabling accounting solutions that are scalable and mitigate risk. As a key member of the team you’ll be responsible for designing and executing the accounting system and process solutions for new initiatives focused on the next generation of Microsoft’s Cloud infrastructure. The Senior Finance Manager - Cloud Network Service Enablement will be involved with a multi-billion dollar asset portfolio influencing the design of systems & processes, providing key insight to business partners, and executing monthly financial close processes. The role will collaborate with Microsoft partners globally, including Finance, Tax, Treasury, Trade, Sourcing and Business Operations to optimize systems, processes and accounting for Cloud Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

The Cloud Infrastructure Strategy, Planning & Delivery (CISPD) finance team is responsible for delivering cloud capacity at the right time, right place, and right cost. We are seeking a driven Finance professional to join our Strategy Sourcing & Execution Finance Team. The successful candidate will bring a combination of deep financial modeling and technical skills. This role will be in the center of our growing cloud business and the responsibilities include:

  • Cloud Network Services Enablement to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, while enhancing the controls and mitigating risks.

  • Leadership role in guiding and enabling accounting treatment and processes for cloud network services.

  • Partner with finance to drive insight and clarity on Cloud network services accounting guidance to help inform business decisions and financial planning (forecast, targets, long range planning).

  • Participate with a high performing team to add to thought leadership for Business Enablement.

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Microsoft Policy; enable controls to safeguard assets and accurate financial reporting.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet regulatory, audit and compliance requirements.

  • Build and manage close partnerships with teams across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Business.

Qualifications

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience

  • MBA or CPA preferred

  • Previous Cost Accounting experience preferred

  • Previous accounting experience in Cloud, supply chain, fixed assets and/or multi-national companies preferred

  • Demonstrated analytical, collaboration, and time management skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of management

  • Deep understanding of GAAP, Internal Controls, and SOX

  • Demonstrated systems and process improvement experience

  • Must be extremely collaborative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, creating effective internal business partnerships

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, demonstrate attention to detail, and work effectively under deadlines

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
