Microsoft Corporation Senior Finance Manager, Business Operations in Redmond, Washington

The Business Operations team has an opening for a Senior Finance Manager, Business Operations with proven business partnering and analytical skills to join our team and support Microsoft’s Operations organization. 

In this highly visible role, you will engage directly with business partners and Finance leaders to plan, monitor, and provide guidance on spending across the organization.

To be successful with partners and portfolio leads, this Senior Finance Manager, Business Operations role requires a mix of analytical skills and process improvement abilities to provide deep business insights and guide financial decision making and execution.  Additionally, you will work across organizational boundaries, understand and effectively communicate complex concepts, and influence results to drive maximum return for Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations organization with annual planning, target setting, project costing, budgeting, quarterly forecasting, regular business reviews, etc.

  • Provide leadership to the business with respect to financial management and resource prioritization and allocation.

  • Drive analytical and conceptual thinking with the business that extends beyond the numbers into strategy.

  • Distill and translate data into meaningful information and insightful analytics for consumption at the Director, GM (General Manager) and CVP (Corporate Vice President) level.

  • Ensure investments are aligned to key priorities and recommend opportunities to re-allocate and re-deploy resources.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience

  • OR Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.

  • 1+ year(s) work experience in a matrix-based organization.

  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent certification.

  • Self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple projects and effectively manage priorities with minimal supervision.

  • Organizational and interpersonal skills to develop working relationships both internal to the team (with peers) and with stakeholders.

  • Proficiently communicate and present complex financial issues and influence decision making.

  • Technology systems and software skills, including Excel, Power BI, databases and Microsoft tools.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
