Azure Communication Services (ACS) is a rapidly growing product that provides reliable and high-quality SMS, Chat, Public Switched Telephony Network (PSTN), Audio/Video calling, meeting, and other communication services. ACS interoperates with Teams and delivers cutting edge communication services as a platform for business to consumer scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Use Customer communication data to build customer interactions offering an API service platform that can leverage Microsoft’s Copilot Ecosystem to transform data to valuable customer journey.

  • Build required Data Infrastructure and Stack: Collaborate with engineering groups to ingest, process and model large amounts of communication and interaction data.

  • Design service architectures to build scalable customer interaction solutions.

  • Design Data Pipelines working across Microsoft products and services to create a service platform for Customer Interactions.

  • Data Resiliency and Reliability: Design solutions ensuring access proper access controls to various data types and users.

  • Scalability: Extract raw data from different complex sources managing scalability and latency requirements for solutions built.

  • Lead and support the Data services in on-call rotation and support

  • Design and develop to meet the needs of Privacy and Compliance requirements of Microsoft.

  • Collaborate across the Org to design and develop solutions that are scalable, reliable, extendable and maintainable.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 5+ years experience with system design, service design, data architectures, data pipelines, data design, compliance or privacy handling for data

  • 3+ years experience collaborating with partner teams to meet engineering goals

  • 3+ years experience mentoring and coaching early-in-career engineers

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud and services or Azure

  • Experience working withDot NET, Apache Spark, Databricks, Azure Synapse, and with large data sets using SQL/Azure Data Lake/Spark, etc., to derive actionable insights

  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries  

  • Experience in DevOps to maintain live services and\or application frameworks

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design  

  • Commitment to building highly scalable, highly reliable services  

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
