Providence St. Joseph Health Principal Service Engineer IS, Service Owner in Redmond, Washington
Description Principal Service Engineer IS, Service Owner - *hybrid within the Providence footprint of states (WA, OR, CA, MT, NM, TX, AK) We are looking for a Principal Service Engineer to act as service owner for our highly secure, Cybersecurity Maturity Model (CMMC) 2.0 compliant hosting environment. This service owner will be the main contact for coordination between Providence infrastructure services, a third-party hosting partner and business stakeholders. They will collaborate closely with enterprise security and infrastructure teams to ensure Providence operational and architecture standards are followed for all new and existing deployments. They will monitor the hosting partner's performance against SLAs and conduct monthly business reviews to ensure they are satisfying all service expectations. This unique role requires someone with experience managing vendor relationships, presenting to senior IS and business leadership, coordinating across organizations and a technical background in security, cloud and network services. This role will be essential to ensuring our critical regulated business meets CMMC 2.0 requirements and provides a high-quality experience for our caregivers. Service Engineers work in partnership with developers, testers, and program managers, (typically early in the development process) to design, operate, grow, and improve large-scale, computer-based services offered to IS, non-IS and clinical caregivers. Their technical skills are on par with their Development, Test, and Program Management counterparts. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent education/experience. 8 years of related experience; more preferred Strong experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes. Strong experience with n-tier solutions. Strong experience with resilience modeling (failure mode analysis) and ability to simulate service outages for point solutions (automated) and platforms (manually). Strong experience influencing engineering team members in translating customer and technical requirements into service architecture to meet Quality of Service Expectations. Strong experience leading and representing the Service in backlog discussions and standups to establish appropriate prioritization of Live Site requirements. Strong experience leveraging data and metrics to drive behavior, process, and priority decisions. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Strong experience in advanced problem solving using systematic procedures and investigating problems utilizing root cause analysis. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent education/experience Experience in a Healthcare environment.
