We are looking for a Principal Security PM Architect - Azure Security at Microsoft and play a pivotal role in defining and developing the network security architecture for the Microsoft Cloud. In this role, you will collaborate with the product engineering team and security engineering team, to lead the effort in designing the next generation cloud network protections for both Microsoft and its world-wide customers. You will also partner with other technical experts across-company to ensure the overall cloud platform network design of Azure is sound and secure. The person we are looking for should possess strong network engineering and security expertise at both the physical and SDN network layer, with the willingness to work with complex engineering systems, to collaborate among multiple teams cross-orgs, and to follow the result driven and data driven path to deliver the right outcomes.

Responsibilities
Define the security strategy and security design for the cloud network
Be a subject matter expert, leveraging a broad and current understanding of security to devise new protections and exploit mitigations
Drive org-wide/company-wide security initiatives
Collaborate with other stakeholders to improve security and highlight its business value, to land security investments for designing and developing new security mitigations and defenses
Identify opportunities to strengthen security postures in a wide variety of key services across Azure services, network protocols and architecture
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years experience in security architecture, security engineering, technical product management, and/or risk assessment
OR equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience designing and securing large-scale systems, or equivalent experience.
Deep understanding and demonstrated experience in network systems and their security designs
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep understanding and experience of hyper-scale cloud networking
Effective communication skills, including proposing and reporting to executive leaderships
Proven ability to influence cross-org stakeholders without direct authority
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent
Deep understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
