Microsoft Corporation Principal Corporate Counsel, Supply Chain in Redmond, Washington
We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our team and provide legal advice and counsel on global supply chain and human rights due diligence regulations across our work to use data and technology to advance fundamental rights in the role of Principal Corporate Counsel, Supply Chain. In this role you will have a deep understanding of the legal landscape and a commitment to providing legal services.
Responsibilities
Provides legal advice and counsel on global human rights due diligence regulations, and other topics that arise in the context of business and human rights for Microsoft supply chain teams and leadership, with effective coordination and collaboration across Corporate and Legal Affairs (CELA) and business teams.
Synthesizes complex requirements on legal and related business matters, grounded in in-depth understanding of our business, to develop a single OneMicrosoft source of truth for business groups that need to implement due diligence processes.
Identifies and anticipates legal risks in our business, technology, and/or public policy, and develops solutions to mitigate future risk.
Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents.
Monitor legal developments and advise management on changes and trends in the law and help shape innovative practices for Microsoft.
Manage outside counsel and other legal resources
Actively support engagement in industry associations and contribute to external engagements and policy development.
Develop and implement legal policies and procedures.
Provides continuous feedback and contributes to the improvement of project operational efficiencies. This includes staying up-to-date with uses of technology solutions to scale individual work. Provides recommendations to improve efficiency within work group and for the delivery of legal services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctor Degree or international equivalent degree AND 4+ years experience as a practicing attorney with at least 3 years of experience in supply chain, responsible sourcing, and/or corporate responsibility.
OR equivalent experience.
Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
Legal Counsel IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $227,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $243,000 per year.
