Our Client, a multinational technology corporation headquartered in the Pacific NW is seeking a Hardware Lab Technician for a contract assignment located onsite in Redmond, WA. As a Hardware Lab Technician, you will support the testing and development of computer-related equipment for datacenter applications. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Lab Technician and Hardware/Datacenter experience with the ability to assemble and solder hardware, proficiency with lab equipment, and excellent communication and problem-problem skills which will align successfully with this organization.

Job Title: Hardware Lab technician

Location: Redmond, WA

Pay Range: $50-55/HR on Experis W2

What’s the Job?

  • The main function of a "Lab Technician, Hardware 3" is to support the testing and development of computer-related equipment for datacenter applications.

  • Execute tests on datacenter computer and power hardware.

  • Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment to meet special needs.

  • Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.

  • Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.

  • Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system

What’s Needed?

  • 5-7 years of Lab Technician experience

  • 5-7 years of Hardware/Datacenter experience

  • 5-7 years of assembling hardware and soldering hardware

  • Lab equipment proficiency - know how to use all power lab equipment with minimal to no supervision including (but not limited to): oscilloscopes, DMMs, DC loads, AC sources, logic probes, power analyzers, and serial analyzers (e.g. Aardvark, Beagle)

  • Background in either power and/or embedded systems with experience debugging hardware and firmware

  • Familiar with serial protocols including I2C, UART, and SPI
