Job Description:

Client is looking for a System Development (SysDev/DevOps) contractor to join the Project Kuiper Mechanical Engineering group. You will be responsible for developing, securing, and maintaining the CI/CD pipeline and hosting environment of one or more internal web applications and services. You may also be involved in developing integrations between these applications and other internal services. The successful candidate should be experienced working within the AWS GovCloud environment, and be familiar with the various security mechanisms associated with hosting a web application on GovCloud (IAM, SSO, VPC configuration, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities:

-Use AWS GovCloud and internal Client services to setup and deploy .NET web applications for internal customers

-Work with solution architects to determine, recommend, and implement appropriate deployment strategies and hosting requirements

-Create and manage IAM roles and permissions

-Create and maintain multiple hosting environments (production, test, development) on EC2 instances

-Create deployment scripts

-Cross-browser test and troubleshoot site backend or service functionality

-Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate concepts and to enable rapid iterative development and deployment.

-Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, researchers, and customers to refine the user experience.

-A proven portfolio demonstrating the above skills will be required

Knowledge and Experience Required:

-4+ years of experience years experience in back-end web development, system development, or devops

-Expert with AWS services

-Expert scripting experience, especially for web application deployment

-Expert demonstrated experience with web server hosting, ideally with multiple different hosting servers (e.g. NGINX, IIS)

-Able to operate in a Linux environment

-Willingness to learn new things

Preferred:

-Experience hosting .NET applications

-Experience with internal Client development tools and methodologies

-Experience with Client Federate
