Summary The purpose of the position is to assist department providers in delivering services to individuals, families, and communities in the area, including local schools and institutions. This position is located in the Mental Health and Medical Social Services departments at Four Corners Regional Health Center (FCRHC), Red Mesa, Arizona, Shiprock Service Unit. Four Corners Regional Health Center serves the needs of residents of Teec Nos Pos, Sweetwater, Mexican Water, and Red Mesa, Arizona. Responsibilities Provides community-based, Clinical services to patients and families while they are learning to live with illness or disability of a family member. Provides assistance in conducting comprehensive patient assessments. Works with other health technicians and providers through case staffing. Follows up with patients to ensure care plan is followed. Assists in organizing and working with clinic/community teams to plan, develop and implement integrated mental health and medical social services programs that meet local needs. Assists in coordinating and conducting meetings with other departments. Assists providers in program planning, management, evaluation and reporting. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Individual Occupational Requirements Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Applicants who meet at least one of the following requirements may qualify for positions at the GS-06. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks. Example include: basic knowledge of medical terminology and physiology, disease prevention strategies, stress reduction practices, and barriers to adherence with medications; ability to administer screenings for depression, anxiety, suicidality, and substance use; experience providing basic health education. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is covered by a Bargaining Unit. Relocation incentive may be authorized. At least a 1 year service agreement will be required.
