We are currently offering a $3,000 SIGN ON BONUS to brand new full time employees working over 37.5 hours per week or a $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS for part time employees working 20 or more hours per week.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located in Red Hook, NY, this position is responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of the school's vocational training programs. This role will assure that vocational program(s) are properly licensed in accordance with Department of Labor regulations. In conjunction with the Principal, they will design vocational curricula and training projects. They will meet with appropriate personnel to identify work training sites, identify functional work activities, specify job markets, etc. The Vocational Coordinator will design systems to measure progress of students, and success of the training program initiatives. They will also solicit new work sites for student employment opportunities.

Salary: $58,458.48 per year

Qualifications

EDUCATION : Bachelors Degree required, preferably in education, social work, sociology, or psychology. Will consider a candidate currently enrolled in a BS/BA program.

EXPERIENCE : Prior experience in a coordination role required. At least three years experience working with children or adolescents with developmental disabilities is required. Graduate work in sociology, counseling, or a related field may be considered as a substitute for experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 70 lbs. or more. Using standard crisis intervention procedures, must be able to singlehandedly effect the initial restraint of children and adolescents weighing between 75 and 150 lbs. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
