Sr. Manufacturing Engineer -- Reading, PA
We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer in our 621 Brentwood Drive facility.
Design, commission, modify and support electromechanical equipment, instrumentation, machine controls, and robotics in support of process systems engineering, process automation, and process control technology. Facilitate the resolution of processing and equipment problems and participate in continuous improvement projects. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
.Essential Responsibilities:
- Evaluate processes and configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.* *
- Design, assemble, test, program and debug manual, semi-automated and automated pieces of equipment and tooling.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerned with design, construction and modification of equipment and machinery.
- Verify Equipment Requirement Specifications against vendors Design Specifications during the design and building of pieces of equipment.
- Prepare and execute FAT/SAT, IQ and OQ Protocols for equipment qualification.
- Facilitate implementation, integration and acceptance of process controls.
- Develop operating procedures for quality control and testing, proper maintenance and operation of process equipment.
- Understand and apply relevant OSHA and CE machine safety standards
- Follow established documentation procedures to create engineering drawings and project documentation
- Occasional travel required
- Execute Product Industrialization process as required
Essential Skills:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in an electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent, with 10+ years related experience focused on automation
- Functional use of SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling software to generate fully detailed solutions to engineering problems and provide engineering drawings.
- Experience creating technical data package quality drawings using GD&T and other technical processing requirements.
- Hands on experience of basic machining, using lathe, mill, drill to cut and drill.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or managers and employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Experience with statistical analysis tools.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, PDM, FEA analysis, creating and interpreting electrical mechanical and hydraulic schematics, and bills of materials. Familiar with regular plastic and metal materials. Familiar with machine safety control system design requirements, electrical design standards and panel design standards such as NEC UL CSA and CE, OSHA requirements associated with machine design, applicable ISO 9000, and quality system requirements and policies.
