Bayview Funeral Home Resident Funeral Director / Intern in Raymond, Washington

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director or Intern to join our team at our mortuary in Raymond, WA. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the funeral service industry, providing support and guidance to families during their time of loss. This role requires a blend of professional skills, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Experience in funeral directing is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right intern candidate.

Duties

  • Assisting with client cases, cremations and removals. Must be willing and able to participate in after-hour and weekend call rotations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to funeral services.
  • Collaborate with other professionals in the industry to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance through the grieving process.
  • Assist families with necessary paperwork, including death certificates and insurance claims.
  • Manage logistics for funeral events, including transportation and facility arrangements.
  • Prepare the deceased for viewing by sanitizing, dressing, and cosmetizing as needed.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethics in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Must communicate and work well with others and possess skills in conflict resolution.
  • Must be willing to work independently, as this is a small company.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathize with grieving families.
  • Valid driver license and the ability to pass a background check required.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when conducting removals, handling caskets or transporting remains.
  • Must be able to relay information clearly and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Microsoft Office: 2 years (Preferred)

Housing is available for this position. The role requires a dedicated individual who can balance technical skills with emotional support, ensuring that every family receives the care they deserve during their time of need. Starting hourly pay will be based on years of experience as a licensed intern/funeral director. Support for registering as a funeral intern is available.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour DOQ

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
