Title: Senior Steering Test Engineer

Worksite Location: Raymond, Ohio

 

Duties: Responsible for the steering system development and vehicle test planning for a specified project. Development and evaluation of new components and specifications, coordinating with other vehicle component teams and brake component suppliers in addition to analysis of market issues related to the steering systems. Completing driver training courses, developing expertise in subjective and objective rating of vehicle dynamic phenomena, operating data acquisition equipment and analysis software. Vehicle setup, mechanical work, parts changes, and troubleshooting. Achieving performance, quality, cost and delivery targets in the area of Steering Test by: Thinking critically and applying fundamental engineering principles to complex targets; Leading, planning, and coordinating activities with other design, test, factory, purchasing and suppliers; Creating and managing own schedules with milestones and trigger points and share with related groups; Leading meetings and/or giving constructive thoughts along with keeping track of open items; Confirming and maintaining the quality of the test results prior to sharing with other members; and Leading representation on cross functional teams, understanding relevant targets, specifications, and design concepts for the area and Performance Design. Leading a small to medium engineering team and communicating the vision and outcomes and managing output of team members to ensure the targets are achieved.

 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering and 5 years of engineering experience in the automotive industry. 5 years of experience in vehicle dynamics engineering. 5 years of experience in testing, development, calibration, and evaluation of vehicle and steering system. 5 years of experience in vehicle and system level confirmation of performance. 5 years of experience in vehicle data acquisition and vehicle measurement. 5 years of experience with ETAS INCA, Vector CANalyzer and CANape, and NI instruments C-DAQ. 5 years of experience using Microsoft programs (including Excel) to conduct vehicle track test data analysis. Travel approximately 10% of the time to unanticipated domestic and international locations. Hybrid work schedule involving onsite work at our location in Raymond, OH and telecommuting may be permitted.
