Closing Date:This position is set to close at midnight (CT) on July 11, 2024.

Lead the data analysis, forecasting outage management and system support functions to support and optimize commercial operations within the GDPM department. Provide senior leadership to GDPM's Generation Dispatch team. Provide strategic leadership in overall GDPM system development and operations.

Pay Range:$121,850 - $201,250 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Reporting Relationship:Director of Generation Dispatch & Power Marketing

Location:Rapid City, South Dakota

Essential Functions:

• Oversee the Generation Dispatch, data analysis, outage management and system administration functions within the GDPM group.

• Ensure the effective operation of the GDPM Generation Dispatch and load management for 3 three generation portfolios and load areas.

• Provide long term Strategic over site of generation dispatch and resource planning.

• Ensure the effective operation of the Hartigen PowerOptix application to support commercial operations and data analysis.

• Ensure timely review and analysis of proposed generation resource outages to appropriately manage customer cost impact.

• Develop policies and procedures, in coordination with other GDPM functions, to ensure compliance with regulatory and contract requirements.

• Manage performance and development of all employees within their span of control to ensure high levels of engagement and effectiveness.

• Conduct business in accordance with NERC and FERC standards and business practices, corporate risk management and compliance policies.

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the department’s budget. Responsible for preparation and review of the work groups business plan.

• Prepare data and present to Senior leadership during the Energy Risk Committee. Oversee the department’s participation at the Risk Management Committee.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Work with business process owners, both internal and external to GDPM, to direct development of tools, analysis displays and reports.

• Participate in applicable industry groups and organizations to represent Black Hills’ interests.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance, engineering or related business field or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 7 or more years Experience in power marketing, generation dispatch, project management and relevant systems.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and projects in an accurate and timely manner.

• Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, Power Point and various specialized software/programs.
