The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a key financial leader that will work closely with the VP Treasurer and the CFO to guide the financial strategy and decision-making processes of the organization. This role oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support business objectives and key results and to drive sustained earnings growth in line with the company’s financial targets. The Director of FP&A will partner with operational and department leadership across the company’s eight-state footprint and collaborate with senior leadership to provide insights, recommendations, and actionable strategies based on rigorous financial analysis.

Pay Range:$148,400 - $244,850

Essential Functions:

• Lead the development of annual budgets, five-year financial plans, and forecasts, in partnership and collaboration with operational and department leadership.

• Oversee the identification and analysis of variances between actual performance and forecasts, providing explanations and recommendations to leadership.

• Direct the in-depth analyses of financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide actionable insights to leadership to support strategic decision-making and drive performance improvements.

• Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to evaluate the potential impact of various business decisions.

• Prepare and present regular financial reports and performance updates to senior leadership, including preparation of presentation materials for the board of directors.

• Provide input and direction in support of the Company’s financial press releases, SEC filings, and annual regulatory reports.

• Establish and maintain effective internal controls.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions and new service offerings, and provide financial guidance and analysis for business case development and investment evaluations.

• Lead and create efficiencies in budgeting and forecasting processes by implementing process improvements, technology driven solutions and automation; partner with accounting systems to ensure all financial systems are properly operating to capture and produce timely and accurate information.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing FP&A organization, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and capabilities to deliver on strategic objectives.

• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

• Minimum of (10) ten years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or utility regulatory experience and/or a combination of education is required, with a minimum of (3) three years in a leadership role .

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, accounting, finance, economics, or related area required.

What is Desired or Can Be Taught:

• MBA or advanced degree preferred; professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFA) is a plus.

• In-depth knowledge of financial statements and how they drive the business.

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting and complex data analysis.

• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.

• Proven track record of driving results, influencing decision-making, and partnering with senior leadership to achieve business objectives.

• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, respectfully engaging as a listener and seeking to offer new and unique ideas to drive performance improvements.

• Takes a strategic, collaborative, and proactive approach to problem solving, turning insights into actionable strategies and executable plans.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a direct communicator who can distill information into a digestible presentation for senior executives.

• Strong people leadership skills and the ability to build solid succession planning.

• Ability to provide leadership and management across multiple geographic work locations; creates a team culture where everyone wants to do their best and deliver results.

• Proficiency in financial systems and software, such as ERP systems (e.g., UI Solutions, Oracle), BI tools (e.g., Power BI), and Excel.
