Job Description

Teledyne MEC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented VE Support Specialist to assist with a variety of Value Engineering (VE) tasks, including processing, inspecting, and maintaining ion pumps, as well as handling VE recall items, scrap parts, and assembly orders. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while supporting VE supervisors and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ion Pump Processing: Weekly processing of 20-35 ion pumps from the test floor. Includes sorting, labeling, cleaning coordination, inspecting, and scrapping expired pumps.

  • Inspection of New Ion Pumps: Inspect ion pumps received from vendors (approx. 30 at a time), visually under a microscope, and leak check. Assign individual travelers and coordinate with the VE supervisor.

  • VE Scrap Management: Process scrap parts/assemblies and manage reject tags. Maintain accurate records and hand in completed reject tags to Quality Control.

  • VE Recall Support: Monitor the monthly recall spreadsheet and ensure all fixturing, tools, and equipment are updated, active, or inactivated as needed to support efficient operations.

  • Assist VE Supervisors & Engineering:

  • Order and track fixturing, hand tools, lighting, and other equipment.

  • Maintain and repair VE-related tools and fixtures.

  • Assist with ergonomic improvements and VE inspections in cleanrooms.

  • Process and track engineering change orders (ECOs) related to VE.

  • Manage the annealing of wire and assist in final assembly processes when needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain hipot cabling and spot welding equipment.

  • Train new VE employees on necessary equipment and assign them lockers and badges.

  • Respond to fixture quantity requests for ongoing ECOs from facilitators.

  • Work closely with engineering on occasional document updates and purchasing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Experience working with inspection tools, microscopes, and cleanroom environments.

  • Familiarity with VE processes, ECO management, and quality control procedures.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production.

  • Hands-on experience with maintenance and repair of tools and fixtures is a plus.

  • Proficient in using tracking systems and software for order management (training provided).

  • A technical associate degree or equivalent military training is required.

Salary Range:

$50,820.00-$67,870.000
