Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for providing the analytical guidance and vision to identify the enterprise core technologies necessary to drive consistent and valuable Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. This role supports tactical business initiatives and formulates a design plan that factors technology investments and risks while providing value to the company. The position manages the technological components for business plans ensuring compliance with existing enterprise regulations while addressing any security risks. The role has oversight for the efficient use BI resources to reduce costs and ongoing maintenance, including supporting many different types of ad hoc reporting/analytic requests.

Job Description

The Consulting Business Analyst (BA) will execute on medium to large projects as a liaison among business operations, technology groups, clients, business partners, vendors, and project/program team. The Consulting BA will understand, analyze, and facilitate business needs, requirements, and impacts of business changes as a result of strategic initiatives, operational changes, compliance requirements, client needs, and technology or operational improvements. Collaborates with functional teams to develop detailed design specifications according to standards. Additionally, this role will participate with leadership to define and implement the best practice activities for Business Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Required Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Computer Science or Information Technology) and 10+ years of experience in Health Care BI analysis and development OR higher degree (Masters/Ph.D.) with 5+ years of Health Care analytics/architecture experience.

  • Experience in implementing BI enterprise-scale data model & analytical systems.

  • Strong business and IT background to architect software, hardware, network or any IT solution that gives the best results to the business.

  • The ability to translate business issues / requirements and objectives into technical solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of IT business processes and practices and skilled in partnering with internal customers at all levels to define problems, identify solutions, and be a change agent to promote positive change in the organization.

  • Proficiency in Big Data, Cloud and Business Intelligence related tools and technologies.

  • Knowledge of distributed systems, complex data pipelines and data transformation concepts.

  • Strong history and track record of completing quality projects on time, as well as coaching and mentoring others to success.

  • Requires strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities.

  • Lead prototyping of potential analytic and reporting solutions.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess/adjust quickly to changing priorities.

  • Must possess combination of technical depth, written/verbal communication and client management skills.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Executes independently on medium to large sized projects or as part of a team of BAs on large sized or complex projects working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure superior customer and client experience

  • Documents requirements, system impact analysis, systems design, and process analysis and testing (including reasonableness checks) using software development methodology to provide efficient, cost-effective solutions as directed

  • Conducts root cause analyses, gathering data to pinpoint problem areas on which to focus, validating that the analysis is data driven, recommending and implementing solutions and evaluating those results, and recommending controls to monitor consistent use of the solution.

  • Identifies impact of solutions on existing and future systems and functionality

  • Captures, defines, and validates business needs with project team

  • Plans overall business analysis approach and activities for projects

  • Prepares for, facilitates, and documents requirements elicitation sessions

  • Assists in the production of user documentation and training materials.

  • Manages requirements traceability to solution scope, objectives, and system requirements

  • Adheres to business analysis discipline and standards in accordance with the Prime Project Lifecycle methodology

  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in client relationship management

  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis on large complex projects or varying project types

  • Deep knowledge of business analysis tasks, activities, techniques, and requirements process

  • Expert in basic office productivity software and tools (MS Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)

  • Experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or healthcare industry

Potential pay for this position ranges from $96,000.00 - $163,210.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
