Responsibilities

This position is remote.*

Position Summary:

The Coding Compliance Auditor conducts professional fee audits on Providers and Coding Department staff to ensure services are entered into the billing system and coded correctly per established guidelines. Additionally, this position will provide education to help improve clinical documentation and accurate code assignment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Performs professional fee audits on Providers Coders and Data Entry staff per policy and audit schedule.

  • Educates all new providers on proper coding and documentation prior to auditing and provides feedback to providers throughout the audit process to improve documentation and coding.

  • Audit and educates as needed established providers per Dignity Health Medical Foundation Coding Leadership’s direction

  • Creates Dignity Health Medical Foundation Coding Department coding training for continue education units and educates department to ensure continued proficiency in accurate code assignment.

  • Completes ad hoc audits or education as needed.

  • Generates reports through auditing software for review education and trending.

  • Completes coding audits when payer notifications/letters require review.

  • Identify coding trends and recommend new processes to help improve coding quality of Dignity Health Medical Foundation Coding Department.

  • Meet deadlines production and coding quality requirements set by Dignity Health Medical Foundation Coding Leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years professional fee coding experience.

  • Must have and maintain an in-depth knowledge of CPT ICD and HCPCS coding guidelines.

  • CPC or CCS-P Certification

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience presenting to providers and coders on a one-on-one and group basis preferred

  • CPMA preferred

  • MDAudit GECB/IDX and Cerner preferred

  • Ob/Gyn Specialty coding expereince is a plus

Pay Range

$30.55 - $44.30 /hour
