Principal Financial Group Sr Software Engineer I in Raleigh, North Carolina

What You'll Do

We have an exciting opportunity on the Benefits and Protection Team for a Sr. Software Engineer who will thrive in a constantly advancing agile culture.

We are looking for an Engineer who can help build upon our core platform and other integrated systems. You will need to be flexible and adaptable. Flexible in that you are comfortable playing various roles within the team as needed. And, adaptable in that learning and growing are key as is a willingness to do what it takes.

Who You Are

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field and 6+ years work experience or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience working with Java is required

  • 2+ work experience working with Typescript is required

  • Must have the desire to learn new technology and continuously grow

Additional preferred skills/experience:

  • Modern JavaScript frameworks

  • Working within the cloud environment (AWS preferred but open to others)

  • Spring framework

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$95200 - $182400 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
