Sr. Manager, Meetings & Events
Overview:
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in translating business strategies into compelling marketing events that drive customer value, revenue, and growth. You will create and lead global events, that engage diverse customer segments, across various regions (AMER, EMEA). Additionally, you will lead all aspects of regional events within the AMER region to establish Thermo Fisher's presence in local markets, ultimately driving growth for the Mass Spec and Chromatography Division.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
Be highly organized and able to lead multiple, cross-functional projects in parallel.
Applying a data-driven and metrics-minded approach, focusing on measuring and reporting event performance.
Develop a division-wide events and trade show strategy, and planning and prioritization process.
Optimize event marketing investments to expand business impact and increase customer experience.
Analyze and measure performance and report regularly to division leadership.
People and Team Manager:
Serve as a team leader, with three direct internal reports, responsible for the coordination of all global events.
Lead all aspects of the recruitment, training, organization, and performance management.
Meet or exceed business performance indicator targets.
Serve as leader, coach and advocate for the team's development and workplace culture.
Qualifications and Experience:
10+ years of trade show and event management
3+ years of supervisory experience
Bachelors Degree in Business or Marketing is preferred
Exhibit a high degree of experience with new and emerging event technologies and platforms
Possess strong attention to detail
Be flexible and adapt to working with people across regions, businesses and channels
Is a strong communicator, collaborating across the organization
Have experience in sponsorships, trade shows, seminars, user meetings, and virtual events
Have the ability to travel and participate fully in event set-up and execution
Additional Requirements:
Identify, summarize, and report on trends, to guide business decisions.
Possess robust budget management and analytical skills.
