The Role

We’re hiring for a Senior Manager role within our tax organization to drive the preparation and review of state income tax calculations. This role will be a trusted advisor supporting our state income tax leadership team. The overriding objective is to drive value creation by partnering with the business/respective tax support teams and driving performance through a rigorous, constructive assessment of operating strategies and results.

This role has been designated as fully remote.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Strong technical working knowledge of corporate taxation in complex multi-jurisdictional corporation; including technical working knowledge of ASC 740 and US GAAP reporting, as well as accounting for uncertain tax positions

  • Prepare and review annual income state provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740 for multiple SEC filings

  • In depth understanding of state NOLs and applicable state laws, as well as analysis of all state valuation allowances

  • Review state true up of all income tax returns; as well as review of state payable/receivable analysis annually and state corporate income, franchise, and gross receipts tax return filings

  • Proactive tax planning and reactive to proposed/enacted legislative change.

  • Analyze technical tax areas and company accounting transactions, perform research, and assist in making recommendations regarding proper application of relevant tax and accounting standards.

  • Liaison with accounting, tax compliance, legislative, SEC, and treasury departments for coordination on information requests; align these requests and tax return positions within the global provision

  • Analyze complex and unique issues requiring in-depth evaluation to generate solutions to tax problems; apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Perform state research and planning for income taxes including state conformity

  • Understanding of tax reform and state implications of these changes

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum 7 years multi-state and local and federal tax experience or the equivalent in training and education

  • Organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Computer related skills (i.e. Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks

Preferred

  • CPA

  • Big 4 public accounting experience

  • System experience in the following: Corptax, SAP, consolidating tool BPC, BNA NOLs, Alteryx

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$111480 - $148630 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$117340 - $156450 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$123210 - $164280 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$129080 - $172100 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
