Amentum EPMO Senior Manager, Adoption Change Management in Raleigh, North Carolina

Amentum is seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional to join our organization as an EPMO Senior Manager of Adoption Change Management . As a senior member of our Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) , you will play a critical role in leading and delivering complex Adoption Change Management (ACM) plans that drive the adoption of strategic initiatives. Your extensive ACM expertise, leadership capabilities, and business acumen will be essential in ensuring successful change adoption to achieve organizational goals.

Senior Manager, Adoption Change Management is an upper-level position reporting directly into the EPMO within Amentum’s corporate Enterprise Transformation function. Potential projects where you would provide ACM leadership range between software-development and infrastructure, to integrations, business systems, transformation, continuous improvement, contract compliance, and security initiatives.

This role requires advanced knowledge of training and communications strategies and best practices. This role requires advanced knowledge in multiple business operational functions, such as information technology, human resources, finance, global supply chain, compliance, and other processes in order to support projects that include mergers and acquisition integrations, continuous improvement, and enterprise transformation. US Citizenship is required. The ability/willingness to obtain/maintain a security clearance may be required. This is a US-Remote-Telework role, you must live in the US to work remote.

Essential Responsibilities:

ACM Initiative Governance and Compliance: Maintain ACM methodologies, standards, and best practices across the ACM program. Conduct quality assurance activities, ensuring adherence within initiatives to ACM processes. Adhere to ACM frameworks, processes, procedures, and templates within initiatives. ACM Program Strategy and Initiative Planning and Execution: Develop and implement program strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define program scope, impact, and risk from a people perspective. Lead ACM activities for large scale and complex ACM initiatives. Reinforce a structured methodology across the team and mentor team members to support their growth and leadership of ACM initiatives. Stakeholder Management and Engagement: Engage key organizational stakeholders to understand their initiative-level and program-level needs and expectations and ensure the team is providing effective communication and collaboration. Identify and engage project-specific stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, functional leads, external partners and subject matter experts. Analyze stakeholder groups for impacts, benefits and risks of change. Establish effective communication channels, manage stakeholder expectations, build strong relationships with stakeholders and engage stakeholders in two-way communication. Team Management: Provide leadership of ACM efforts within cross-functional project teams and within own team. Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting innovation, professional growth, and knowledge sharing. Optimize resource allocation, promote teamwork, and manage conflicts to maximize team performance and project outcomes. Provide coaching to project partners and sponsors and mentor team members. Risk Management and Mitigation: Identify, assess and mitigate people-related project risks using advanced risk management techniques. Perform assessments on projects that evaluate risk, change impact, change readiness and stakeholders. Identify, assess, and mitigate people-related risks and issues throughout the project life cycle. Develop robust risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Implement proactive mitigation measures, communicate risks to stakeholders and facilitate effective problem-solving and decision-making to overcome complex challenges, reduce resistance and increase adoption. Project Management: Understand advanced project management frameworks and how the project management discipline assesses the complexity and degree of technical change, focuses on the tasks and activities required to create and implement the technical solution and measures success based on schedule, budget and scope. Support the project managers with the development of their project documentation such as charter, ROM and project plan from an ACM perspective. Mentor ACM team members on how to support project managers and project teams and how to integrate ACM tools and strategies into project management tools and strategies. Program Development: Support the growth and development of the ACM team at Amentum by identifying opportunities for project-level, program-level and enterprise-level process improvement, documenting lessons learned, sharing best practices, innovating, developing templates, creating new initiative- and program-level materials. Resource Management and Optimization: Work with stakeholders and team leadership to identify ACM resources with appropriate capacity and skillset. Ensure appropriate project codes are requested and assigned for actual ACM labor and cost tracking, as needed. Monitor ACM resource utilization and work with stakeholders to adjust as necessary. Monitor team member capacity and prepare team members to ramp up on and ramp down on projects. Support the management of ACM budgets, spending and resource costs. Training management: Support and establish medium and large-size training efforts for ACM initiatives by providing training insight and options to project leads, documenting requirements, and designing and delivering training programs. Identify, assess, and proactively manage training risks and opportunities for increased engagement and learning. Support the development of ACM capabilities across the EPMO and project teams. Quality and Performance Management: Ensure adherence to ACM processes and procedures throughout initiatives. Create actionable deliverables according to the core change management plans. Support the inclusion of key ACM milestones into project plans. Develop adoption related KPIs to include in charters project plans. Monitor initiative and overall program performance against strategic objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets. Conduct regular initiative reviews to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous performance enhancement. Foster a culture of excellence and promote a commitment to delivering high-quality programs. Communications Management: Provide and facilitate excellent/robust verbal and written communications for a variety of audiences, from end users to top organizational leadership. Provide presentations to medium-to-large size audiences. Enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications to sponsors, stakeholders and end users.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive experience as a change manager with a proven track record of successfully driving change on a variety of types of projects including technology, organizational and integration type changes and working with large, complex projects.

  • Must be a current U.S. citizen; this role may require the ability/willingness to obtain a security clearance.

  • Solid organizational and analysis skills exemplified through excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management capabilities and critical thinking aptitude.

  • Demonstrated track record of strategic leadership of ACM initiatives on projects to support adoption, change and business outcomes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make data-driven decisions.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including executive-level presentations.

  • Ability to empathize and understand varied perspectives of different audiences. Ability to present complex changes to a non-technical or lay audience.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Humility – Ability to accept and apply constructive criticism and understand that personal development never stops. Able to set role aside and sometimes perform activities like testing and training to assist the team in meeting project deliverables.

  • Industry-specific knowledge and experience related to the organization's projects are preferred.

  • Basic understanding of project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life cycle.

  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, with PowerPoint required and SharePoint, Visio and MS Project a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Education, Instructional Design, Communications, Psychology or equivalent). Advanced degree in a related field is a plus.

  • An advanced understanding of Prosci change management methodologies and best practices. Certifications highly recommended.

  • 10 years’ experience as a change manager.

  • US Citizenship is required for this role.

  • The ability/willingness to obtain/maintain a security clearance may be required.
