Salary Placement and Work Hours:This is a 9-month position, placed on the D-1 Salary Schedule with a pay range of $41,282-$92,513, depending upon degree and verified, applicable work experience, at the President's discretion. The work week is Monday through Friday, and hours worked will be a minimum of 35 per week. An additional summer appointment period is possible, with a pay range of $12,746-$28,612, depending upon institutional needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:The Industrial Electronics Technology (ILT) Instructor must teach ILT, Industrial Maintenance Technology, and Building Construction courses; advise students; sponsor student organizations as assigned; participate in college and departmental committee work; submit required reports on attendance and grades; and assist in registration. This position is under direct supervision of the Dean of Workforce Development and Skills Training and must comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College.

Duties and Responsibilities:The duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  1. Organize, instruct, and supervise students in both the classroom and lab settings as assigned
  2. Prepare course syllabi and learning outcomes in conjunction with departmental guidelines
  3. Participate in the selection of texts and teaching materials
  4. Serve as academic advisor for students as assigned, including utilizing advising software and following College advising procedures and processes
  5. Participate in all student registration periods and work closely with students to adjust schedules per the College drop/add process
  6. Assist students in attaining industry certifications, including NCCER, NOCTI, and other relevant certifications
  7. Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in State and College policies
  8. Participate in the Colleges planning process
  9. Serve on institutional committees
  10. Assist in the development, evaluation, and revision of program curricula to insure maximum student competency
  11. Be willing to attend professional training as required by program needs or requirements
  12. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College
  13. Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education
  14. Recruit students for the program and College at large
  15. Teach day and evening classes, on and/or off-campus, and distance education courses, if needed, including industry training courses
  16. Have knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Northeast Alabama Community College
  17. Represent the College and its philosophy to prospective students and to others in the community
  18. Collect and maintain performance data for reporting purposes
  19. Maintain a safe, secure, and sanitary classroom and lab environment
  20. Comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College S stem, and Northeast Alabama Community College
  21. Complete other duties as assigned by the Dean or President
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Effective oral and written communication skills
  2. Ability to present instructional material in an understandable manner
  3. Ability to deal with students from a variety of backgrounds
  4. Knowledge of subject matter and latest advances in subject (s) taught
  5. Understanding of the mission and goals of Northeast Alabama Community College and the Alabama Community College System
  6. Knowledge of established policies and procedures of the college

Minimum Required Education, Training, and/or Experience:

  1. Associate degree or diploma in a related field from an accredited institutionrequired. Bachelors degreepreferred
  2. Minimum of three years of documented experience in industrial electricity, instrumentation, robotics programming, PLC programming, motor controls, hydraulics, mechatronics, and/or industrial controlsrequired
  3. Industrial certification in industrial electronics, PLCs, and/or roboticspreferred
  4. Experience and/or certification in HVAC systemspreferred
