Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager within the Financial Services industry group, you will provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the banking and financial services industries
You will work directly with the client, manage the tax engagement team, have access to an elite group of specialists when needed, and be connected to a proven support system from firm leadership to ensure you are set up for success in your role and career
Developing and maintaining dedicated client relationships on various federal and state tax consulting/compliance engagements. Tax manager is responsible for clients receiving proactive communication and timely service
Advising clients on a variety of tax issues including accounting for income taxes, tax provisions, tax compliance, and assist with audits/notices by federal and state taxing authorities
Perform detailed reviews of tax work papers and provision calculations completed by other associates
Provide training, direction, and supervision to staff and senior accountants
Overseeing consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates
Maintain technical expertise in various tax areas related to financial institutions to provide services and solutions relevant to our client’s business
Participate and provide leadership for firm initiatives and projects
Our spectrum of business tax services is relevant for public and private companies and range from tax planning to tax compliance, controversy and risk management, government incentives, and tax management consulting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
One of the following accreditations obtained:
Licensed CPA or licensed attorney
5 years minimum corporate tax experience
Proven managerial experience with budgets, people and projects
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter and demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple, competing priorities
