Radford University Assistant/Associate Professor of Athletic Training in Radford, Virginia
Job Summary:
The Department of Health and Human Performance at Radford University invites applicants for a 9 month tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2025. The faculty member will teach graduate courses in the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program which is fully accredited and recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education ( CAATE ). The faculty member may also teach a course in a related undergraduate program. The successful candidate will engage in scholarly activity, university and community service, advise program students, and work with various university departments to recruit students into the Athletic Training Program.
The Health and Human Performance department currently offers degrees that include: M.S.A.T., Exercise, Sport, and Health Education, Nutrition and Dietetics, Allied Health Sciences and Sport Management. The Exercise, Sport, and Health Education major has concentrations which include: Health and Exercise Science and Physical and Health Education Teaching. The department has 16 full time faculty and is seeking candidates who can contribute to innovative teaching approaches for both campus and community programming. The Department of HHP resides within the College of Education and Human Development and the Athletic Training Program is a growing and valuable unit in the University.

Required Qualifications:
Earned Doctorate ( ABD considered) in Athletic Training, Human Performance, Kinesiology or related field. Board of Certification ( BOC ) credential in good standing and eligibility for VA State Licensure. A minimum of 2 years clinical athletic training experience and 2 years of collegiate teaching experience. Contemporary expertise in emergency procedures and other areas of athletic training. Experience and familiarity with CAATE standards and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of demonstrated university-level experience in teaching in the areas of athletic training, kinesiology, and/or related fields at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Evidence of teaching anatomy and/or emergency procedures and general medical conditions. Evidence of clinical supervision and evaluation of athletic training students.
