API Heat Transfer Human Resources Generalist in Racine, Wisconsin

What You Will Do:

The HR Generalist is hands-on role that provides comprehensive Human Resources support to their assigned facility. This role is a member of the site HR team and is critical in executing our people initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a consummate team player with the ability to leverage a shared service approach to HR while partnering with the local leadership team to create and assist with the drive of the local people strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition:

  • Manage and oversee full-cycle recruitment efforts, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of candidates.

  • Conduct orientation training on EHS and standard company policies and procedures, with a focus on continuously improving our delivery.

  • Facilitates completion of routine HR functions such as preparation and maintenance of employee files; ensuring data integrity in HR systems; and developing and maintaining position descriptions.

Employee Relations:

  • Provides a visible HR presence acting as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.

  • Partners with HR Operations Manager to resolve personnel concerns by conducting investigations, documenting findings, and following up with involved parties to close out issues.

  • Participate and guide the Employee Engagement Committee to help improve culture and create community.

Performance Management:

  • Assist in the performance appraisal process, ensuring evaluations are completed timely and effectively.

  • Provide guidance and support to supervisors on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

  • Manage disciplinary processes, in conjunction with supervisors and HR Operations Manager.

  • Participates in Continuous Improvement of HR management systems, including weekly reporting on activity, tracking performance against defined objectives, and brainstorming and/or implementation of countermeasures to drive improvements.

Reporting & Metrics:

  • Maintain and analyze HR metrics and prepare reports on key HR activities, such as turnover rates and recruitment efforts.

  • Analyze workforce trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making

Training & Development:

  • Maintain and continuously improve training and development plans for hourly associates. Partner with leadership and SMEs to support communication and development of competencies.

  • Identify training needs and collaborate with department heads to provide employee development programs.

  • Support succession planning and talent management initiatives.

HR Projects:

  • Participate in and lead special HR projects such as diversity initiatives, employee engagement surveys, or wellness programs.

  • Support HR process improvements and system implementations.

What You Bring:

  • At least three years of related experience; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field highly desired.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The desire and ability to participate on a team as a change agents, focused on continuous improvement of the capabilities of all API Heat Transfer processes and personnel.

  • Demonstrated experience interacting and building credibility with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.

  • Collaborative approach and comfortable leading without authority.

  • Must be proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Flexibility is needed as we continue to grow our company and processes.
