What You Will Contribute: The CNC Machinist is responsible to create machine parts and tools using precision computer equipment according to blueprint specifications. CNC Machinists work with computer numeric controlled (CNC) machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic, or other materials. They also are expected to preform preventive maintenance on the machinery to ensure its functionality and performance. Job Duties: * Work from detailed instructions, blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications. * Sample part to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece. * Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. * Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. * Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining. * Adjust machine controls, offsets, fixtures, and stops as required. * Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings. Education and Experience: * High School Degree/GED required; Trade school preferred * 3+ years of experience with CNC/Robotics desired Qualifications: * Ability to modify/optimize CNC programs required * Experience operating lathes and other machinery preferred Competencies: * Collaboration: Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives. * Communication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to others. * Initiating Action: Take prompt action to accomplish work goals; take action to achieve results beyond what is required; be proactive. * Work Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.
