LAPRE ACADEMY Childcare Teacher in RACINE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary: Supervise activities of children and plan and implement programs for the development and care of children to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for day care center by performing the following duties. Essential Functions: Plans individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills such as learning to listen to instructions, playing with others, and using play equipment. Supervise all classroom and routine activities, including naps and outdoor supervision. Instruct children in practices of personal cleanliness and in developing habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books. Establishes a nurturing relationship with children and serves as appropriate role model that encourages the core values: 1) I am unique, and I love being me. 2) I take responsibility for my actions 3) I treat others with respect. Serves meals and refreshments to children in a family style setting. Participates in staff meetings, staff trainings, and other program related activities. Maintain daily communication and cooperation with parents regarding the child\'s adjustment to the program. Prepares, maintains, and follows curriculum-based lesson plans that align with WMELS (Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards). Record and maintain observations, assessments, and child portfolios. 10)Maintain communication with parents through arranging child/parent/teacher conference to discuss the growth and development of children in your care. 11)Set up, clean up, and return supplies/ equipment utilized while maintaining neat organized environment. Maintain and complete all required documentation (greater than threes, closing procedures, daily sheets, sign- in and out sheets). Keeps citation to zero (OJ in classroom . Maintains a total of 25 continuing education credits per year for full time teachers and a total of 15 hours per calendar year for part-time teachers. 15)Maintain a current registry by continuously renewing annually to meet young-star qualifications. 16)Keeps unnecessary toy breakage to a minimum. Maintain First aid &CPR, child abuse neglect training Maintain a safe play environment. Observe and monitor children\'s play activities. Communicate with children\'s parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues. Support children\'s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. Care for children in institutional setting, such as group homes, nursery schools, private businesses, or schools for the handicapped. Sanitize toys and play equipment. Dress children and change diapers. Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered. Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents\' or guardians\' attention. Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits. Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas. Perform general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, and making phone calls. Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas. Help children with homework and school work. Create developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs. Assist in preparing food and serving meals and refreshments to children. Discipline children and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior, such as caring for own clothing and picking up toys and books. Regulate children\'s rest periods. Organize and participate in recreational activities and outings, such as games and field trips. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: 2-year related experience and/or training with state required certificate .
