About the Position

We are seeking experienced and successful Sr. Project Managers to provide technical and managerial leadership in delivering a variety of projects that comprise the Program. The successful candidate will work on multiple civil and highway projects as a leader within project management teams. These are long-term, full-time, onsite positions located in Queens, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, resource allocation, and risk assessment, while aligning with company objectives and client requirements.
  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary project team, including engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication of project progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cost projections, making informed decisions to maintain financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones and critical path activities, and implementing adjustments as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Enforce quality standards, safety protocols, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction work.
  • Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address unforeseen challenges to minimize project disruptions.
  • Allocate resources efficiently, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize productivity and maintain project timelines.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, RFIs, and other project-related documentation.
  • Quickly address and resolve issues that arise during construction, making well-informed decisions to keep the project on track.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • 8+ years experience in heavy civil project management with a focus on roads and bridges, transportation, transit, rail, or aviation.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques related to heavy civil projects.
  • Experience working with government agencies and their processes.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse project teams, fostering collaboration and achieving project objectives.
  • Proficiency in construction and project management software, scheduling tools, and cost control systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

  • New York or New Jersey PE or ability to obtain by reciprocity.

Compensation Details

The salary range listed for this role is $175-200k annually. Luster is committed to paying all its employees in a fair and equitable manner. The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidates level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
