Kuehne+Nagel Customs Entry Writer in Queens, New York

Your Role
Reporting to the Area Customs Brokerage Manager you will provide outstanding customer service and complete all tasks and responsibilities related to customs entry transactions.
Your Responsibilities
Process shipments within department guidelines according to NBSC Customer list/ Controlling branch instructions
Timely and accurate input of all data/information necessary to process and facilitate shipments through U.S. Customs
Classify goods according to the customers Standard Operating Procedures and/or instructions
Check CargoWise “buckets” daily to ensure all steps in entry/brokerage processes are being followed
Document review and assessment for accuracy, verification of critical data elements for entry processing
Communicate documentation discrepancies to supervisor and/or controlling branch
Accurate completion of all PSG data interfaces (i.e. FDA, EPA, DOT, FCC, Fish & Wildlife etc...)
Answer client’s (internal or external) calls or questions within 1 hour. If you are unable to, respond back and explain why and when you will reply with the answer (Manage and assist to resolve all customer queries and ensure resolution of all problems).
Interact closely with internal customers/departments to ensure customer service levels are achieved
Perform audit review on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customs
Maintain and keep current all customs compliance documentation
Process documents through the Company’s ABI system, obtaining Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate. Arrange both delivery and the invoicing of the import account for services rendered
Review and monitor all Customs rejections, requests for information for clients and any other government agency, and other correspondence.
Your Skills and Experiences
1+ years custom brokerage experience
1+ years Air Logistics experience
1+ years customer service experience
Ability to work with demanding deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic knowledge of Inco Terms
Schedule: 5 consecutive workdays (may include weekends- flexibility is required)

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
