Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will have authority as purchasing agent to incur obligations through mandatory sources, or established Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA), when mandatory sources are unable to support requirements of the Command. You will oversee purchasing for maintenance of equipment, related supplies, and services at the headquarters level on all but formal contracts over the micro purchase threshold. You will have the authority to approve purchases up to $2,000 for construction, $2,500 for services, and $10,000 for supplies with the general Government Purchase Card (GPC) account and up to $25,000 with the printing and training GCPC account. You will provide guidance to customers and assistance to two subordinate purchasing offices, and other purchasing personnel, in new or revised procedures and techniques. You will amend or reject work not meeting the Federal guidelines. You will review purchase requisitions from customers for adequate specifications, legality, correct appropriation data, and determine the appropriate method of procurement. You will consolidate requests to eliminate repetitive buys, keeping administrative costs to a minimum. You will research parts and components form alternative sources and partner with command departments to identify specialized items needed to complete work. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing purchasing agent duties, submitting and preparing purchase orders, and experience with monitoring or coordinating purchase card programs. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information Incumbent must complete the "Basics of Contracting 101" course and the "Intermediate Contracting 202" course within the first year of employment. Employee must be able to obtain/maintain purchasing warrant/purchasing authority which is issued by the Regional Contracting Office, Parris Island with approval from Headquarters Marine Corps. This position requires 5% travel. This position is telework eligible. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
