Katmai Logistics Support in QUANTICO, Virginia

SUMMARY

Provide logistics support in a variety of processes; to include logistics, embarkation, material handling, warehousing, and inventory. Advise Marine Corps War Lab (MCWL) /FD equities on logistics requirements, capabilities and planning to support military experimentation activities. Mange all documentation to support said activity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively access and use the Global Combat Service Support - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS) and associated data system tools to provide Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) data management expertise and quality control reviews.

  • Provide expertise on supply accounts to include, but not limited to requisition management, account reconciliation of Due and Status Files (DASFs), Consolidated Memorandums of Receipt (CMRs), inventory coordination, property accountability and management, and other related specialty areas.

  • Assist in reviewing Corrective Action Plan (CAP) milestones by conducting analysis, providing recommendations, and assisting with obtaining the test articles or documentation to support the completion of the milestone.

  • Support the audit, inspection, and physical inventory of Marine Corps property.

  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements as required.

  • Support MCWL/FD's shipping, receiving, identifying, documenting, and tracking of G4 procurement requests.

  • Advise the A/CS G-4 in the planning and execution of all strategic movements.

  • Submit, track, and manage requests for strategic movements via various methods to higher USMC headquarters, U.S. TRANSCOM, and to adjacent services for execution.

  • Validate all load plans and inspect all cargo requiring transportation for compliance with the characteristics and restrictions for the determined mode and source.

  • Ensure the command’s transportation requirements are planned, coordinated, and within the parameters of federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Exercise command and control over the marshaling, staging, and embarkation of battalion personnel and equipment for all exercises.

  • Inspect and validate all hazardous cargo has been properly packaged, marked, labeled, and certified within the parameters of federal and service regulations.

  • Travel to various Aerial/Surface Ports of Embarkation (APOEs/SPOEs) to expedite gear inducted into multi-service transportation channels.

  • Liaise with MCWL Divisions to coordinate shipments through the MCB Quantico Distribution Management Office (DMO). This includes the reporting and documenting of dimensional data, hazardous cargo, and classified shipments.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hazmat certified; certified to prepare hazardous material shipments for transport via military air, commercial air, and rail, motor vehicle, and water modes and provides packaging requirements and procedures for marking, labeling, placarding, and compatibility requirements. Certification must meet the formal training requirements for preparers of hazardous materials in accordance with AFMAN 24-604 and meets the provisions stated in the ITRO common core curriculum. Appointed personnel may certify that a Hazardous Material offered for transportation is in accordance with applicable regulatory publications.

  • AMC Load Plan Certification; Trained in the doctrine, principles, and techniques of air movement planning. Equipment preparation training to include general and specific supported force responsibilities, joint inspection, palletization, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), shoring requirements, flight line safety and weighing and marking cargo. Qualified in airlift planning consisting of aircraft weight and balance, load planning principles, AMC/Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) aircraft characteristics, and manifesting. Acquired certification via AMC Form 9 Airlift Load Plan Certification with either PDS Code 9N1 (USAF) or M9T (USMC).

  • United States Marine Corps (USMC) Logistics/Embarkation experience.

  • PME (Primary Military Education) commensurate to experience

  • Must have or able to obtain a valid secret security clearance.

  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. citizenship required).

DESIRED QUALIFICATION & SKILLS

  • Familiarity with Integrated Global Convergence.

  • Familiarity with Integrated Computerized Deployment System Codes to include the Sea Service Deployment Module and single load planner.

  • Familiarity with Single Mobility System.

Job Requirements:

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENT

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in an office setting. May be exposed to sharp objects, some heat, loud noise, chemicals, and vibration. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
