OLH Technical Services, LLC (OLH) , a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a Forensic Casework Files Assistant 2 in Quantico, VA.

Position Overview: Provide administrative and quality services to the government to properly organize and maintain forensic casework documentation and to assist with monitoring equipment for federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies in support of investigative and intelligence priorities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The Forensic Casework Files Assistant 2 provides administrative and quality services to assist Scientists and Forensic Examiners with forensic DNA casework documentation and quality control procedure monitoring. Administrative duties include but are not limited to the following: preparation and maintenance of casework documentation, conducting case research, photocopying discovery materials, and answering phones. Quality control duties include but are not limited to the following: monitoring instruments and reagents used in casework; preforming quality control procedures, documenting results, and assessing the performance of reagents and instrumentation; operating and performing routine maintenance on robotic workstations; and performing accuracy and precision checks on robotic workstations. Assist with minor IT duties such as printer and scanner functionality.

  • Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • a. Perform functions associated with centralized movement and management of case files and related evidence.

  • b. Perform file collection from Federal, state, and local forensic organizations and categorize them for easy retrieval by unit examiners and / or scientific management personnel.

  • c. File and archive appropriate paperwork including chains-of-custody documentation.

  • d. Perform the forwarding, staffing, and submitting of reports to the appropriate examiner/personnel for inclusion in case packages, as appropriate.

  • e. The contractor shall coordinate with Forensic Examiners to ensure that all LD reports are uploaded into laboratory information management systems and/or appropriate databases.

  • f. Assist Quality Assurance Specialists and Forensic Examiners with retrieval of case files and organizing audit materials.

  • g. Assist with document tracking or developing database / spreadsheet applications to track case files, audit reports, and other documentation management actions.

  • h. Perform support activities, functions, or duties as defined in future approved and sanctioned task orders.

  • i. Ensure the tracking of case files, audit reports, and other documentation for management actions and review, as required.

  • j. Utilize excellent customer relation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with contributors, team members, management, and other partners.

  • Forensic Casework Files Assistant 2 personnel must successfully complete an internal training program.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

  • Experience: At least one (1) year of experience with forensic processes and casework documentation as it relates to forensic examinations.

  • Skills: Basic computer skills, to include use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook); organization skills; flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
