Responsibilities:

• Monitor and optimize the performance of production and development databases.

• Perform regular database backups and ensure successful completion of scheduled jobs.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

• Apply patches and updates to maintain system security and performance.

• Implement and enforce database security policies to safeguard sensitive information.

• Manage user access and permissions, ensuring appropriate roles and privileges.

• Conduct regular audits and reviews of database access logs for compliance.

• Monitor database storage usage and plan for future capacity needs.

• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to scale databases as necessary to accommodate growth.

• Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other teams to design and implement database solutions.

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior DBAs and development teams.

• Assist in troubleshooting database issues across applications, environments, and platforms.

• Contribute to database architecture and design decisions to ensure efficiency, scalability, and security.

• Design and implement database schema changes as part of software development and release cycles.

• Regularly test and update disaster recovery procedures to ensure swift recovery from failures.

• Develop and maintain database disaster recovery strategies and plans.

• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

• Prepare reports on database performance, security audits, and system health metrics for senior management.

Requirements:

Experience in Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle preferred. Must have at least 10 years of experience with 6 years of related technical specialized experience.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field.

Provides technical guidance and skills in support of information systems development and integration efforts. Performs in a variety of technical areas including systems requirements analysis, data analysis and engineering, systems design, systems development, computer programming, systems testing and deployment, quality assurance, configuration management, and systems documentation. May serve as a technical lead for a task or project. Provides technical and administrative support for information systems development tasks, including execution of technical tasks, the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and for progress in accordance with schedules. Coordinates with management staff to ensure problem solution and user satisfaction.
